Gospel Singer Lanre Teriba A.K.A Atorise Shot In South Africa

This happened almost like a week ago,so sorry the story is coming a bit late,the Yoruba Gospel singer was in South Africa on the 15th of this month to perform at a Valentine event tagged Praise Night Concert,after the show he was attacked by unknown men,who shot him and took away his phones and every other thing he had with him.Seems like a robbery to me,i really thank God for his life,and i wish him a quick recovery.

EFCC Parades Seven Oil Thieves

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday February 26, 2013, arraigned seven suspected oil thieves before Justice A. M. Liman of the Federal High Court 1, Benin City, on separate charges bordering on conspiracy and illegal dealing in Petroleum Products. The accused persons: Paul Ojo, Oduwere Edobor, Lucky Okorie, Andrew Anthony, Kadiri Aloysious, James Aker and Lucky Egbede who were arrested at locations and dates, had in their possessions a truck, bus and kegs loaded with litres of substance suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil (AGO). They all pleaded not guilty to the charges respectively.

One of the charges against them reads, ”that you Paul Ojo and Oduwere Edobor and others now at large on or about the 21st day of January, 2013, along Sapele Road, Benin City, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did conspire with each other to commit felony to wit dealing in Petroleum Products without appropriate authority and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 3(6) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 of the Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria) Act. 2007 and punishable under section 1(17) of the same Act.”
The  charges against others read, “that you Lucky Okorie, Andrew Anthony, Kadiri Aloysious and James Aker and others now at large on or about the 22nd day of December, 2012, at Ekewan Road, Benin City, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit dealing in Petroleum Products without appropriate authority and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 3(6) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 of the Revised Edition (Laws of the Federation of Nigeria) Act. 2007 and punishable under section 1(17) of the same Act.”
Justice Liman granted them bail in the sum of N500, 000 (five hundred thousand naira) and a surety in like sum respectively. Sureties must have landed property which title deed must be sighted and verified by the bailiff of the court.
The matter has been adjourned to 26th March and 17th April, 2013 for trial respectively.

34 Year Old Man Charged For Raping A 3Year Old

A sex starved pervert 34 year old man named Kehinde Paul Layode, has been arraigned before a family court in Ikeja for allegedly defiling a three-year old girl (name withheld).

According to what the girls's mother told P.M News,the man Kehinde was one of her neighbours and she left her daughter in his custody to get drugs for the girl when the man allegedly took advantage of her.

“I was going to make my hair in the salon when I discovered that my daughter’s temperature was high and I told Kehinde’s wife to help me take care of her. But she asked me to leave her with her husband since she also wanted to make her hair and that we should go to the salon together.”

“It wasn’t up to ten minutes after I went to get the drugs for her that I returned to the house and asked Kenny (Kehinde) to open the door but he didn’t. Instead, he told me that the girl was sleeping, that I shouldn’t bother myself about her. Then I asked him to at least open the door for me to see my girl and he said that he was in the bathroom.”

The girl’s mother said she was shocked when the door was eventually opened and she discovered that the girl had been defiled.

“I insisted that he opened the door. At this point, my daughter was lying down on the bed but was not sleeping. I asked him why he told a lie but he did not respond. I only observed that my girl was looking rather disturbed.

“When I opened her pant out of suspicion to check her, I saw sperm in between her thighs. I got really mad at him and asked him what happened but he went really wild and told me that he did not do anything. ‘How could I have raped her?’ he asked me and when neighbours came around, they were also as surprised as I was,” she narrated.

The doctor’s report confirmed that the girl was defiled following the tests carried out on her.

It was also alleged that the accused had pleaded with the family to settle out of court but the girl’s family insisted that they wanted justice to prevail.

When the matter was initially taken to the magistrate’s court, he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N250, 000 with a surety and the matter was adjourned till Friday, 22 February, 2013.

However, the matter was transferred to the family court. The court did not sit on 22 February and the matter was adjourned till 8 April, 2013.

Oil Worker's Dead Body Found In Ifo,A week Ater He Was Declared Missing

This is indeed a sad period for the family of Akanbi Oluwatoyin a former petroleum engineer with an oil company in Lekki, Lagos State who went missing about a week ago.

A relative of the deceased, who identified herself only as Ekineyo said Akanbi has been found dead in Ifo, Ogun State.

Ekineyo did not elaborate how Akanbi died and what took him (deceased) to Ifo when he was said to have left for his office at Lekki on Lagos Island on the fateful day.

It was reported on Monday that the oil worker left his New Oko Oba, Agege home in his silver-coloured 2008 Highlander with number plate Lagos SMK 975 AS, at about 5.30am.

Wife of the deceased, Oluwatosin, a medical doctor with Lagos State Health Service Commission, had raised the alarm over her husband’s disappearance, before he was now found dead.

Computer Village To Be Relocated To Katangora Market

The very popular Computer Village,ikeja,will be relocated to its proposed site Katangowa Market, along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.Hmm what say u?See what the commisioner for  Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Olutoyin Ayinde told Vanguard Newspaper;

" Government discovered that the Computer Village is no longer conducive and started making efforts to move the traders operating there to Katangowa. On the other hand, Katangowa is not a virgin land. One part of Katangowa has residential structures, another has the market while the other part is the dump site. The issue of pre-qualifying bidding exercise was when the expression of interest from private investors was invited. The concept was to get investors to rebuild the Computer Village , not before relocating Katangowa to another place called Amikanle. Realistically, we must first go to Amikanle to build a new market and move the people from Katangowa there before rebuilding the Computer Village . This is the issue because it is not possible to start the project at Ikeja when the operators are still occupying that place.

“Also, there are vital issues involved in the Ikeja project that the government is taking into consideration, which makes people think that the project is foot-dragging. For instance, you must first go to Amikanle, to build a new market for traders at Katangowa to relocate to. After that, compensation must be paid to individuals who built structures in Katangowa Market, because you cannot just wake up over night to restructure a place, destroying investments that people put there without adequate compensation. For example, we had a case of the people in Oluwole Market in Lagos Island , where government followed due process and the owners of the place were resettled and also have a stake in the new development. So, when we evaluated all these, some of those who expressed interest initially during the pre-qualifying bidding could no longer cope. Beyond that, we do not want to put the project in the hands of incompetent investors who will abandon it half-way.
“The last time we visited Amikanle showed that the level of development there is so much and will not be wise to clear those buildings and put a market. Aside from that, the location may not be viable to move the market there. At present, we are looking at a new model of how all the activities can co-exist, for Katangowa to accommodate the existing traders, the dealers in computer and allied products from Computer Village and the residential area. From our experience, often times, people who claim to have funds to invest in mega projects do not usually have it at the time the projects are awarded. So, if government starts by putting something there to show commitment, genuine investors will be encouraged to come in. Already, the ministry has started the design of a Digital Village in Katangowa by the state government, which is estimated at about N500million.”

Five People Dead In Taraba After Religious Clash

about five persons were reported killed on Saturday in Wukari, Taraba, while several others were injured, as faithfuls of two different religious groups engaged in a violent clash. Hundreds of houses and business premises, including places of worship, were also razed during the violence.
Confirming the incident, Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Amos Olaoye said the police are in control of the situation, and normalcy has returned to the town.
