This woman was an inspiration to sooo many of us,so prolific was she that for a long time i always thought what a genius she was for putting up quality scripts and story lines.

My childhood is brimmedwith memories of my favorite soap opera,Checkmate.To think that as a woman she became an excellent producer cum Director at a time when such profession is not popular for a woman in this clime,even now,we do noty have many female directors as such,we can count them at the tip of our fingers.Rest in peace to a woman who strode the entertainment industry like a collosus,you will be sorely missed.

PASTOR BEATS WIFE TO STUPOR

According to Punch Newspaper,Bessem Okafor, the estranged wife of the pastor of Mountain of Liberation Miracles Ministires, Dr. Chris Okafor, has accused her husband of beating her up at their home in Magodo, Lagos.

Bessem who left her home in 2012, said she had, a few weeks ago, gone to visit her four children who were in the custody of their father.

“I had to wait outside in the compound until 10pm before my husband arrived; the children were not with him. They were later brought home by the driver about 12am. By then it was clear I couldn’t leave again, I had to spend the night.

“The following morning, I bathed and dressed them for school. They pleaded with me to stay back until they returned and since I hardly spent time with them the day before, I agreed.”

A few hours after her children had left for school, Bessem received a phone call from Chris who had also left the house. He allegedly questioned her presence in the house and ordered her to leave.

When Bessem insisted on staying till her children returned from school, Chris allegedly sent a policeman who was part of his entourage to the house.

She said, “The policeman told me to leave the house. At that time, I was wearing only my dress. I had washed my undies and spread them to dry since I didn’t come with extra.

“I told the policeman that I would leave after my children returned from school. Later, Chris came in and on seeing me, he started beating me and dragged me out of the house.”

She said some policemen came to arrest her, but could not go with them because her clothes were torn.

The following day after making a complaint of assault at the Isheri Police Division, she was hospitalised at the Solid Rock Hospital, in the Ojodu/Berger area.

A copy of her medical report made available to PUNCH Metro said Bessem was brought in for treatment after a brawl with her spouse.

My question is why would a man of God subject his wife to such ridicule?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH BEING A RECEPTIONIST

Hey Fam,hope you all enjoyed your Easter break as much as i did.Welcome back to work and i wish you well n all your endeavors.

Seriously a lot of people need to change their orientation in this present day Nigeria.Everybody now wants the shortest route to success.I have been meaning to write on this topic for a while now,but other things keep overriding that,which is a good thing because all the while that i stalled,i have gathered enough 'evidence' on the subject matter.

While i am not a receptionist,i will be the first to admit that i can take the position up if i were to be in dire need of a job,what are we even talking about,i have applied for a position like that before when i was earnestly seeking a job,bearing in mind that the present day Nigeria is not fair on graduates.So anything legitimate which you find yourself doing,do it with pride!

What is Re-rocking?It is an art of wearing , repeating or recycling your own clothing/accessories/shoes and bags,which you bought with YOUR(emphasis mine) hard earned money over and over again as much as you like.

This simple act however now seem to be a big deal these days,as it is seen like a fashion faux pax in most quarters .As a result,the definition above is now kind of going extinct,going by the culture of extravagance which has now dominated our society today,most especially the youths as the older generation are not perturbed by this act of immaturity.

MOTHER MATCHETES 15 YEAR OLD SON TO DEATH

 
People should learn to control their anger,no matter the level of provocation.Or how else can this case be described?

A woman, Mrs. Ita Okokon, aka, Eka Isaac, at Atai Obio Offot, Uyo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, has killed her 15-year-old son, Isaac Okokon, after a minor disagreement.

Isaac, an SSS II pupil of Offot Ukwa Secondary School, Obiofot, Uyo, was said to have died on Friday following a machete injury his mother inflicted on him.

A neighbour, Miss Ekaette Effiong, told PUNCH Metro that when the mother beat Isaac, he retaliated instead of running away as a sign of respect.

Effiong added that Isaac hit his mother so hard that the woman fell to the ground.

“When Isaac hit his mother that hard, the woman felt humiliated. When she got up, she went inside the house and brought out the machete. She chased her son with the machete, but when she could not get him, she threw the machete at him, which cut through his body,” she said.

Effiong stated that neighbours, friends, relatives, and the mother rushed Isaac to a hospital where he died.

The mother was said to have fled Atai Obio Offot when she discovered that Isaac had died.

I am a big fan of Halle Berry,i just believe she's one of the most beautiful women out there,she exudes this grace and has an effortless smile.I love her movies also and can never get bored with them.As far as i am concerned she's a brilliant actor and deserves every accolade that comes her way.Keep shining Ms Berry.

PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN SHOULD KNOW BETTER

I am one of those that are always quick to jump to President Jonathan's defence when he is been criticized unnecessarily.

However,the president's demeanor over the recent attacks is nothing to write home about.His body language is so off putting.As a leader,you have to show the people you care and that their pain is your pain,not just visiting the victims at the hospital.even if you have to fake it,let it show that you are concerned about the plight of the people you are supposed to protect via your mandate,he should be seen wearing a solemn look at least for some days after the unfortunate blast in my opinion.But the reverse is the case ,my President attended rallies and partied away in Ibadan.

LAGOS LANDLORDS AND THEIR CUNNING ACTS

Now,this post does not apply to all Landlords in Lagos and thus all of them cannot be boxed into the category of being cunny.The truth however is that most of them are greedy and highly inconsiderate.I have come to realize that as much as we criticize government policies and all,everything boils down to us all as individuals and we are our own enemy in this nation called Nigeria.

You must be wondering where i am going with this.Well,i have noticed this trend now(i have never being a victim though and hope not to be) of landlords increasing house rents sporadically,by say 80 percent without any reasonable explanation ,but just for the mere reason that the property is theirs,thus leaving the poor tenants in limbo.

AFTERALL THEY ARE HOUSEHELPS!

The topic of this post is apt and best describes how some insensitive Nigerians treat their domestic staff.This attitude right here is the belief most Nigerians have about their domestic helps. I say this because I have witnessed alot of inhumane treatment meted out to these set of people, I have also heard numerous tales of how helps are treated in our society and it is not nice at all .

 While I am not saying these maids or whatever name we choose to call them are angels,infact most of them are wolves in sheep clothing:I still believe they should not be discriminated against in the various household where they serve or the society at large.So this article is not to hold forth for house helps in Nigeria,but to rather expose or give light to this social malaise.

What prompted this write-up was an event that  caught my hubby's attention recently at an eatery and he told me to take a look myself. We were at an eatery in the mall when this obviously well to do man who appears to be in his middle- age sauntered in with his three kids,all boys and one other teenage boy,making the whole team four,it is obvious the three other kids were his children, because apart from  the fact that they called him daddy, they all wore the same pattern of shirts, same color on a pair of jeans and also the resemblance is uncanny.The teenage guy was the odd one out, not that that would pose a problem really, what caused the issue and inspired this topic is the fact that this man bought cones of ice cream for his kids and left out the supposed house boy,he might even be a relative from the village,but treated like an house help all the same.

BOKO HARAM ATTACKS THE NATION'S CAPITAL ABUJA AGAIN.

These insurgents are obviously bent on destroying and destabilizing Nigeria.Reports have it that no fewer than twenty people lost their lives this morning whne a bomb went off,killing innocent citizens carrying on their daily activities.What message are these demons trying to pass across?

The bomb blast occurred at the crowded bus station around 6.45am today as commuters were about to board buses and taxis to go to work in central Abuja. One of the buses is said to have conveyed the bomb.
I seriously do not want to paste the horrid pictures from the blast,it is just too gory to watch.
