The controversial recruitment by the Nigerian State Security Service, SSS has got many Nigerians talking.
This recent controversy started as a result of the flawed list issued by the SSS over slots given to each state of the Federation in the recent recruitment exercise. Ours is a country that takes the principle of Federal Character very seriously and this is to ensure that in a country mixed with different ethnicities, all ethnicities are carried along, to implement equal 'distribution' and non marginalization of any ethnic groups in the country's affairs.
We recognize the principle of Federal Character in our sports sector, especially Football, Civil Service and all other sectors. However, it appears that some of these appointments are lopsided, with Nigerians alleging that a section of the country usually enjoys the upper hand when it comes to appointments and 'juicy' slots.
Indeed, NIgerians are wont to question why some States in the North got more slots than States like Lagos and Rivers State respectively.This isn't going well with a lot of Nigerians as it seems that the scale was tipped in favor of the North yet again.
