Meningitis has reportedly killed over three hundred people in Nigeria as at the time of writing this post.
The level of awareness is however very low. We believe the Government is not doing enough to sensitize the people about this scourge. At this point we hope that a state of emergency is declared by the Federal Government, it is a case of medical emergency..
As it is, it seems as if all efforts are not being put into creating the much needed awareness, which is to the detriment of the entire populace. We demand an outright eradication of this disease with the right distribution of vaccines to those affected, especially in the Northern part of the country.
However, we urge people to get vaccinated, wash their hands regularly, eat fruits and exercise. Smokers are also said to have a higher risk of getting infected wotjt he disease.
