That rumours of a coup d'etat is gaining grounds in this era in Africa, especially Nigeria, the most populous Black Nation is absurd and appealing at the same time.
No progressive nation needs the military meddling in her Democratic process. The truncation of Democracy by the Military at different intervals since independence is one of the factors that got the country into the mess it is in in right now.
Prominent politicians and Ex-Military Generals are expressing their concerns about the possibilities of a coup, it is more worrisome that the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai raised the alarm himself about his men being used by Politicians.
Nigeria should be thinking of a way forward in order to catch up with the rest of the world in terms of scientific breakthroughs, technological advancements, provision of premium healthcare and so on and so forth. A coup will only retrogress us.
Let the Military keep up with the good works of protecting the citizenry, guarding our territories against external forces and upholding the nation's sovereignty.
