A 28-year-old banker, Folashade Lawson, was on Thursday charged with stealing N705,950 belonging to the bank at an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan.
Lawson, an employee of Seedvest Microfinance Bank, Ibadan, is facing a charge of stealing.
She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

But the prosecutor, Cpl. Sunday Ojeleye, told the court that Lawson committed the offence between July 2013 and March 2014 at the bank located at Okebola area of the metropolis.
According to him, the accused collected a loan using the bank’s customers’ names.
Ojeleye said the bank’s examiners discovered the fraud during their routine inspection.
“Lawson was caught in the act when the customers denied collecting loans.”
The offence contravened Sections 383 and 390 (6) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr A. A. Adebisi, granted the banker bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Sept. 9.

The way people ruin themselves over pittance in this country is pitiable.I guess she must have learnt her lessons.
