A twenty four year old newly wedded Chinese man,named Ge Yifeng,has killed his new wife in a fit of rage after having an argument with her in their car.He confessed that he stabbed her several times with a pair of scissors,then attacked her with an hammer.

After  the gruesome act,he took photos of her dead body and sent them to her relatives as an evidence that he has indeed killed her.He also said he could not get along with his mother-in-law who believes he is not good enough for her daughter.He surrendered himself willfully to the police after the attack.

The former president of the most populous black nation,Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo has scored this present administration of President Good luck Jonathan low,saying the performance is below average.Obasanjo said this during his speech at the popular Ake Festival in Abeokuta,the Ogun State Capital.

During  an encounter with with writers,he was asked about of his view on Jonathan’s administration, he said, “His performance is below average. I will not accept responsibility for his performance. There is nobody that gets such a position without being helped'..

The former President also debunked the insinuations that he had selected Jonathan as the running mate to the late President Musa Yar’Adua because he knew the latter was sick.

He said he had only supported the idea of a South-Southerner succeeding Yar’Adua to extend the sense of belonging that the emergence of a Southern President in 1999 represented.
When the former President was also asked on why he preferred Jonathan to the former governor of Rivers State, Donald Duke, he said, “In my own life, I don’t put all my eggs in one basket. Duke was young enough to be in the reserve.
“He did not agree with me. Donald Duke is my friend but he needs a little of toning down. He needs to get his feet on the ground.”

27 YEAR OLD WOMAN STABS HUSBAND TO DEATH IN LAGOS AFTER ARGUING OVER MONEY

 
Money they say is the root of all evil,bis statement manifested in Lagos last week Wednesday at Ishawo,a surburb in Lagos.The  twenty seven year old wife named Folasade Sodiya reportedly stabbed her husband several times after a heated argument over money in their one bedroom apartment.

The couple are said to have been together for seven years before this calamity struck.A neighbor reported that,the wife had borrowed the sum of N1,000 earlier in the day from another neighbour,hoping to pay as soon as her husband gets back.

In a turn of events,an argument occurred between the couple and the husband allegedly hit his wife with an hanger first before the woman hit back,but this time with a fatalistic and superior weapon ,a kitchen knife with which she stabbed him on the chest with.She was said to have immediately raised an alarm after it dawned on her that she had wounded her husband.

She however revealed that the man descended on her when she asked him to give her the money so that she can refund the debt the owed her neighbor.As a result of the stabs her husband  was said to have died immediately.Folasade has been detained at Owutu Police Station.

This is another case of domestic violence with a tragic end.

SCOTLAND GETS A FIRST FEMALE PRIME MINISTER,NICOLA STURGEON

 

Nicola Sturgeon has been voted in as Scotland's first minister by parliament, with a pledge to tackle inequality.

Ms Sturgeon, who succeeds Alex Salmond, said she had "big boots" to fill but would "wear them in my own way".
The politician, who is the first woman to hold the job, took over as SNP leader from Mr Salmond at the weekend.
Speaking in the Scottish Parliament, Ms Sturgeon pledged to be first minister "of and for all of Scotland".
She said: "A first minister who will always have big ambitions for this country and a first minister who, day in and day out, will apply herself to the job of protecting our public services, supporting our businesses and tackling inequality."
Ms Sturgeon told MSPs: "I am ready and willing to take on these responsibilities. There is a job to be done - a big job to be done."

SAUDI HUSBAND DIVORCES HIS WIFE AFTER SHE FAILED TO REPLY HIS WHATSAPP MESSAGES

 

A Saudi husband has divorced his wife after she failed to reply to a WhatsApp text message.

The man, who got married two years ago, sent the message from his office and waited for a response from his wife. But none came. 

Thinking something must be wrong, reported Emirates 24/7, he rushed home to find her watching television.

When he asked her why she did not respond, she said she was busy chatting with friends on WhatsApp and wanted to reply later. He divorced her instantly, the report added.

'I sent her messages on Whatsapp and knew she had read them because of the latest update on the application but still she didn't answer me or acknowledged my messages,' he was quoted as saying by the Gulf News. 

The husband, in his 30s, said he was frustrated by his wife's seemingly endless interest in using her phone for chatting with friends and family.

MAN EXECUTED IN FLORIDA FOR KILLING HIS WIFE AND RAPING HER DAUGHTER

 
Chadwick Banks,43,was put to death through lethal injection for the 1992 gruesome murder of his wife  and also raping his step daughter before killing her execution style.

Banks was 21 at the time when he shot his wife, Cassandra Banks, in the head at point blank range at their mobile home near Quincy, Florida.
Police say Chadwick and Cassandra had an argument in a bar the night of the murders. She left the bar at 3 a.m. and went home, while Banks continued drinking and playing pool. Banks returned home about an hour later. A neighbor saw Banks standing outside the trailer in the dark for a few minutes before he entered the home without turning on the lights.
Banks shot Cassandra as she lay sleeping. He then went into the bedroom of Cassandra Banks’ 10-year-old daughter, Melody Cooper. There, police say Banks brutally raped the child for 20 minutes before shooting her execution style in the head.
Starke police found the bodies the next day, after a family member alerted them to the double murder in Cassandra Banks’ mobile home.
Cassandra was found in her bed. Her daughter was found on her knees, naked from the waist down and slumped forward on her bed.
The coroner determined from the position of the girl’s body that Banks yanked her head all the way back and fired a shot through the top of her skull.
After the murders, Banks went to a friend’s home where he slept for a few hours before going to work. He was arrested at his workplace.
Police say Banks confessed to “spanking” Melody before molesting her. He said the child never resisted or tried to get away. But the coroner’s report painted a more violent picture. Banks’ blood was found under her nails and on her pillow. And she had facial injuries.
Banks was sentenced to death in 1994 for the rape and murder of Melody. He was given a life sentence for Cassandra’s murder.
None of Banks’ family members witnessed the execution. Members of Cassandra Banks’ family were in attendance.
Banks wore a white skullcap of the Muslim Brotherhood in the death chamber. He looked directly at Cassandra Banks’ family and said, “I’m very sorry for the hurt and pain I have caused you all of these years. Year after year I have tried to come up with a reasonable answer for my actions. But how could such acts be reasonable?”
The execution was the 20th since Gov. Scott took office in 2011. He was just re-elected to another 4-year term.

TURKISH BOY BURIED ALIVE BY LOVER'S FATHER

 
A teenage boy in western Turkey was kidnapped, tortured and buried alive by his young lover’s relatives, police said on Monday.
The lover’s father said the 16-year-old boy from Denizli was killed out of “honour”.
The police also said that the family had accused the teenager of having sex with the girl in question and later refused to marry her.
The police said the boy went missing late last week and his body was recovered in a forest on Sunday.
Meanwhile, police investigation found that the teenager was stabbed and cut 65 times before being buried alive, causing his lungs to fill with dirt and suffocating him to death.
“This was to do with honour, I regret it, it should not have ended up like this,’’ the father said.
He confessed to police that the boy was alive and talking until the moment he was buried.
However the girl’s father and her brother were already under arrest.
Turkey has a recurring problem of so-called “honour killings”, though they usually target women accused of promiscuous acts.

The troubled former Superintendent General of the Assemblies of God Church ,Reverend Paul Emeka has been detained by the police over certificate forgery and for addressing himself as a professor of Theology.
The man of God after being drilled by the police during investigations,however revealed that he purchased the Professorship  certificate from a certain Prof.Okoro who was deported from the United States to Nigeria.

Emeka's ordeal began when he was picked up by the Ig monitoring team based on complaints fron the Nigerian Universities Commission(NUC)which confirmed that his certificate was fake.All this allegations and counter allegations are what made the church elders to suspend him as the head of the church.

FEMI FANI KAYODE WALKS FREE,HE HAS BEEN DISCHARGED AND ACQUITED

 
Former Minister of Aviation,the very outspoken and fiery writer Femi Fani Kayode known as FKK,has been let off of his alleged financial crimes by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

 Justice Rita Ofili Ajumogobia, while delivering her judgement , said that EFCC had not provided any evidence that proved that the former minister had in anyway laundered money through fictitious business transactions. According to her, the prosecution had failed woefully in proving that he was guilt in all the 38 count charge brought against him.

She went further to say that all the witnesses provided by the prosecution since the trial started had not provided any evidence to prove that the former Minister had any business dealings with them.

 

And as follows,she discharged and acquitted him of 38 count charges but however instructed him to enter a defence against the two other charges counts.

MUSLIM CLERIC MURDERS HIS CUSTOMER

 
According to Punch,Mr. Isiaka Akanbi, popularly called Alfa, has been arrested for allegedly killing a 62 year old woman, Raliatu Kareemhis customer of over twenty years.
The Alfa ‎owns a traditional healing centre on Lawani Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos‎ and the late woman, Raliatu was his close customer for years. 

It was gathered that on Saturday, October 25, Raliatu who lived in Agbado Ijaiye, Lagos, went to visit her niece who put to bed in the Olodi Apapa area. She was said to have left her house in Ijaiye after the monthly environmental exercise was over, informing her 20-year-old son, Abdullahi, of the visit after which she reportedly headed for the Alfa’s place at about 6pm.

Two days after, Raliatu did not return home as she promised and her family became apprehensive, trailing her to Olodi Apapa.

After not finding her at her initial destination, some family members, who knew she was a friend of the cleric, decided to check the Alfa’s place.

On getting there, the Alfa allegedly denied seeing her. The family became suspicious when Alfa reportedly started packing his property, and preparing to leave the house some hours later.

They raised an alarm and headed for the Tolu Police Station to report the incident and the Alfa was arrested.

During interrogation, Alfa told the police that he did not kill the woman, but that she died in his place.

According to him, 

“On the evening of October 26, it is true that she visited me. We have been very good friends too. On that day, she just collapsed and became unconscious. I quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital, but I was shocked when the nurses told me she had died. I got a NAPEP tricycle and took her corpse to the Marine Bridge that same night and abandoned it there. I did not want people to trace her corpse to me. One of the deceased's children, Abdullahi, said, 

“I have seen the man in our house a number of times. But he said she died in his house and he now took her corpse to Marina Bridge and abandoned it. We want him to produce that corpse so that we can bury her appropriately.”

After contacting all relevant agencies in the state, the family said the corpse had yet to be found.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the case and that it has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba .

FEMALE CORPER SENT PACKING FROM CAMP FOR SLAPPING HER COLLEAGUE

 
 According to the Twitter handle of 'Naijacorpers',a yet to be identified  female Corper has been decamped from the Delta State orientation camp for allegedly  slapping her colleague after an argument occurred between them.No other information can be gathered about the incidence for now.This means she will have to wait for another year to go back to camp.Temper issues can really set us back,as can be seen in this case.

EKITI SPEAKER IMPEACHED

 
Intrigues in Ekiti State just got to a whole new level as the Speaker Adewale Omirin,who has been embattled since Governor Ayo Fayose resumed office has been impeached as the speaker of the state House OF assembly.

The impeachment was carried out by just seven members of the ruling party PDP and he has been replaced by a member of the same ruling party as speaker.He has been barred from entering the Assembly complex as at the time of filing this report.

TWO UNDER AGE SISTERS RAPED BY HIV POSITIVE MAN IN BENUE

 
The HIV positive man,actually happens to be the children's mother's lover.The bizarre incidence was discovered when the girls' mother took them to the hospital when she discovered that they could not walk properly and the doctor discovered that someone forcefully had carnal knowledge of the girls aged six and eight years old.

The man Terkula Lopuur have been charged to court after being remamnded at the Markudi Magistrate court for rape.

My take on this is  that mothers should be very careful with the kind of man they have around their children be it male or female child.It is now very obvious that there are raving lunatics walking about freely in our society,and their criminal acts cannot be detected by merely looking at their faces.That man is a sex offender,who might serve time on not in jail,depending on who he 'knows' he will get back into the society and God forbids,the vicious cycle continues.

A FORMER MINISTER REVEALS SHE COULDN'T PAY HOUSE RENT DURING HER TENURE

 

In an interactive session at the Foursquare Gospel Church yesterday in Ogun State,a Former Minister for Education  Oby Ezekwesili has revealed that she wasn't as buoyant financially as Nigerians would want to believe when she served as a minister two times consecutively.The Bring Back Our Girls foremost campaigner also told the congregation how she could not pay her mother's house rent just because she chose to serve with dignity and integrity.According to the lowcut wearing former Minister;
'There were times I couldn’t pay my mother’s rent, not because I couldn’t make a choice and build her a mansion. When I was in government, we had to withdraw our three children from their school to Baptist Special School. I was (just) answering big titles. Some of you would have said, ‘They are eating our money’. May God save those who speak without knowledge! I am not saying this so that you can say I am holy, I have my shortcomings.'

It is a good thing to know we still have moderate public servants in this country,just if only half of those appointed into key posts can forget about self interest and focus on people oriented programmes.

I was just thinking about the kind of music we all enjoyed and rocked at parties during the 90s and I wonder what happened to this veteran artists;

Before there was Patoranking there was Daniel Wilson of the ‘baby walakolombo’fame.

Before there was a Dbanj,we rocked to the tunes of Mike Okri(he tried to make a comeback recently).

Before Omawunmi,Waje and Tiwa,Onyeka Onwenu delighted us and still does with her sonorous voice.

Daddy Showkey,Daddy Fresh,Baba Fryo,The late Father U-turn all made us fall in love with Galala and every tune coming out of Ajegunle .

What about Sir Shina Peters,no birthday party was complete without ‘IJO SHINAAAAAAA’ and watch the crowd go gaga at the sound of this.My  dear friend made the grand entry with a dance  to her wedding reception with this Shina Peters classic last year at her wedding in Abeokuta,the song is that good and evergreen.

Oritz wiliki ,Majek Fashek,Raskimono sang their reggae with so much passion.

Some of us also grew up listening to the Waka Queen,Salawa Abeni(no need to form posh over this)did I hear u hum to yourself ‘gentle lady nimi emi kin she fighter oo’.

Dayo Kujore and Dele Taiwo made Juju sound so enchanting,of course with the legendary King Sunny Ade and Baba Commander Ebenezer Obey leading the pack.

Adewale Ayuba Mr Johnson made us wriggle our waists to his Bonsue Fuji...Those were the good old times.

And in Olamide,the rapper’s voice, let me say’ long live King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal living legend’,who gave us Talaso Fuji.
