Woman Electrocuted To Death In Abeokuta

A middle- aged woman Mrs. Comfort Bitrus was on Thursday evening electrocuted in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital while spreading her clothes on a rope outside her house at Oke-Ibode area of the town. Her body came in contact with a live wire around the place and she got electrocuted, putting deaths from electrocution at three in less than two weeks .
She was rushed into the Emergency Treatment Room (ETR) of State Hospital, Sokenu in the town where the Doctor on duty reportedly certified her dead.
The remains of the deceased had been deposited in the morgue, while the victim’s family was seen making arrangement to collect the corpse for burial as at Friday.
A policeman, Sunday Angulu, 32, and his adopted son, Moses, had also been electrocuted last Sunday in Abeokuta.
The Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN in Abeokuta has therefore been called upon to work more on keeping dangerous electric cables away from the reach of the people. The people of the state alike have been urged to report any dangerously-looking cables they see to the PHCN.
