THE ZUMA STATUE IN IMO STATE

Once upon a time
In the Land of Owerri,

In a state called Imo
There lived a big man
A son of the soil
Being the Leader
He is always on his toes
Thinking of ways to move his state forward
One day, during his quiet time
He kept ruminating over an idea
An idea that would propel his State to greater heights and benefit his people
A wonderful concept struck him
Why don't i honour a man from a foreign land?
He thought to himself,
One quiet voice whispered to him
'Workers are still being owed'
A louder voice quelled the latter voice, 'salaries can wait’!
Roads are bad, the quiet voice of reason persisted
The malevolent voice hissed
So, the man thought, who can I honour?
He smiled when he remembered his friend from the South of the African continent.
They have a lot in common
Zuma is his name and he is a suitable choice,
So the man calls his henchmen
They deliberated upon the issue
And millions were benchmarked
For this laudable project
Which is to be, a work of art
An imposing statue of Zuma
So began the execution of the project
The artist proved his mettle
As Zuma's noteworthy statue
Found its way into the heart of owerri
At a very strategic spot,
To be seen and admired by all and sundry
The people of South Africa now have the MAN to thank
For thinking their Leader worthy
Of such an edifice in the heart of a Nigerian city
Long live Nigeria, Long live South Africa.Bibiiremusings
