VOCABULARY TIME

Thank God it's Friday lovers! I can't contain my excitement as I cannot wait to go home and enjoy the weekend, get some hours of sleep and relax generally? How about you?

While basking in the euphoria of the weekend, a word crossed my mind and I remember how it can be used in different contexts. What is this word you may ask, well its one of the commonest words ever, we bandy it about at every opportunity.

It is the word RENT, yes, rent as in paying your house rent in particular. So basically we are focusing on homonyms, words that have the same pronunciation and spelling but with different meanings.

RENT -The word Rent is usually a form of payment, an amount fixed by contract made by tenants at specified times.

A payment used to obtain occupancy of a particular property or space as the case may be.

The above definition is what most people are familiar with. However you can use the word RENT to mean a opening made by tearing.

Lastly, you can use the word rent in the expression 'Rent the Air' which means to scream wildly.
