ANTHONY WEINER'S CONVICTION AND THE NIGERIAN DEBACLE

As a follow up to the last post about child molesters. Here is US ex-congressman, Anthony Weiner.
He has just been convicted and sent to 21 months imprisonment for sexting a fifteen year old girl. Sexting means sending or exchanging sexually explicit contents via a mobile device. So, he got arrested not raping or sleeping with the minor, but SEXTING. Mr Weiner is no stranger to controversies, this is not the first time he would be involved in sex scandals in the course of his political career.

However, his story is just to set a bckground for this post. While there are no basis for comparison between the Nigerian Judicial system and that of the United States, we can always borrow a leaf from them.

This man, Weiner, got a jail term for 'ordinarily' sending messages, obscene messages. While in Nigeria, sexual predators, pedophiles walk  with just a slap on their wrist. Sometimes, families are pressured to drop these cases.

It is just so pathetic and frustrating, we must be ready to fight this anomaly, tooth and nail. Until then, these offenders will keep getting away with their disgraceful acts.
