VULCANIZER'S DAUGHTER GRADUATES FROM THE UNIVERSITY

Someone asked me why it should make the news that a Vulcanizer's daughter graduated from the University.

The answer is quite simple. In Nigeria, it takes the grace of God and sheer determination to sponsor one's child(ren) through the University. With a fairly good job it is still a difficult task, due to the state of our economy, we all know Vulcanizers aren't the highest paid artisans in the country.

Hence, it is a feat  for a vulcanizer who earns paltry sums of money from what he does to have  gathered money to see his child through a tertiary institution.

Apologies to all Vulcanizers and people with similar jobs out there, but it is an open secret that most of their children are not usually educated, especially beyond the primary school level. These 'vulcanizer' parents simply cannot be bothered. So if one sees one who values education and toils to make his child have (most roadside vulcanizers in Nigeria are not educated, i stand to be corrected)what he wasn't priviledged to have, then he deserves an applaud.

This is another inspiring story, just like the graduate son of a Fish Monger who celebrated his mum last year and whose picture went viral, this young lady is no different from him. Their backgrounds are similar and it could have hindered them.

Just so you know, your dreams are valid, and you can be whatever you choose to be.
